Questions Need Answers

I normally try to write a post that is at least 350 words, I try to give as much information as possible and I ask questions hoping for a few answers.

So far my questions, which have been in just about every post, have gone unanswered…..lots of platitudes and babble but no direct answers.

I decided to write a post to ask the questions with no flowery stuff….just a straight forward question…..in search of straightforward answers.

1–What does the US expect in return for its massive investment in Ukraine?

2–What is it that makes Americans such die hard supporters 0f Israel?

A couple of easy straightforward questions that I think deserve some easy straightforward answers (if known).

I look forward to the answers.

  1. Here is my answer to one of the questions you pose:

Americans’ strong support for Israel can be attributed to several factors that have shaped their relationship over the years. Firstly, there is a deep historical and cultural affinity between the United States and Israel, rooted in shared democratic values and a Judeo-Christian heritage. Many Americans view Israel as a democratic outpost in a turbulent region, surrounded by nations often hostile to Western interests.

Secondly, geopolitical considerations play a significant role. Israel has been a strategic ally for the U.S. in the Middle East, providing intelligence cooperation, military technology, and serving as a bulwark against extremism. This alliance is reinforced by shared security interests and the perception of Israel as a stabilizing force in a volatile region.

Thirdly, domestic factors such as strong pro-Israel lobbying groups, particularly the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), exert influence on U.S. foreign policy decisions. These groups advocate for robust U.S. support of Israel through lobbying efforts, grassroots organizing, and campaign contributions, influencing both public opinion and political discourse.

Lastly, religious beliefs and moral considerations also shape American support for Israel. Many Americans, especially evangelical Christians, view the state of Israel through a theological lens, seeing its existence and protection as fulfilling biblical prophecies and a moral imperative.

In summary, Americans’ steadfast support for Israel is a complex interplay of historical ties, strategic interests, domestic politics, and religious beliefs, which collectively contribute to a deep-rooted and enduring alliance.

      1. So do you really believe that people’s religious perceptions carry any weight in political affairs? What carries weight in political and diplomatic affairs is whoever can squeeze the money tit the most —

  2. Here is my answer to the other question you posed:

The US expects several outcomes in return for its significant investment in Ukraine:

    1. Strengthening Democracy and Rule of Law: The US aims to support Ukraine in building strong democratic institutions and promoting the rule of law. This includes fostering transparent governance, combating corruption, and enhancing judicial independence.
    2. Security and Stability: The US seeks to bolster Ukraine’s security capabilities, particularly in defense against external threats, including from Russia. This involves providing military assistance, training Ukrainian armed forces, and supporting efforts for peace and stability in the region.
    3. Economic Reforms and Development: The US expects Ukraine to implement economic reforms that promote sustainable development, attract foreign investment, and improve the living standards of its citizens. This includes measures to enhance fiscal transparency, reduce bureaucracy, and strengthen the business environment.
    4. Alignment with Western Values and Alliances: The US hopes that Ukraine will continue to align itself with Western values, including respect for human rights, freedom of expression, and diversity. This also involves cooperation with international organizations and partnerships with Western countries and alliances such as NATO and the European Union.
    5. Conflict Resolution and Peace Efforts: The US supports efforts to resolve conflicts in Eastern Ukraine, including the conflict in Donbas. This includes promoting dialogue, ceasefire agreements, and eventual reconciliation efforts to achieve lasting peace.

In essence, the US expects Ukraine to use its investments to strengthen its democratic institutions, improve its security, implement economic reforms, uphold Western values, and contribute to regional stability and peace efforts.

    1. Democracy…is laughable for Ukraine….our actions have done little to provide peace and security….economic reforms will be virtually non-existent corruption will rule…your thoughts are staright out of a Pentagon paper….chuq

      1. Agree. Corruption in Ukranian society has been part of the life style forever. A reason for our weakening hopes of Russia and China is corruption and beating their own system by entrepreneurs. Russian mafia is like another branch of government. Most entities pay the bribes as part of business cost. I think China ‘s corruption lies much in cheapening the quality of goods produced so manufacturers can save and pocket money using low quality raw materials. . I’ve read many Chinese prefer not to buy their own manufactured products because it is junk.

      2. My thoughts are never out of anybody’s paper… I am an opinion blog—I am also an ex Journalist among other things.

      3. I am so glad we have a Pentagon….It probably needs some oversight or some tuning up but I love it for our defense

  3. #1 drain and demoralize Russia, help Russian people see benefits of being a part of the community of nations, depose Putin

#2 That’s where Jesus hung out . The bagels are super.

  4. The first is that they want Ukraine to keep fighting, keep using western weapons, stay in debt to the west forever, and tie up the Russians in a neverending war.

As for Israel, they are not only financially involved in the US, they also must know the secrets of all the skeletons in every cupboard, going back 50+years .

    Best wishes, Pete.
