To listen to Donny and the Right noise machine you would think that ‘communists’ are crawling all over our nation….so much crap but Donny just cannot stop talking about communists….
When Donald Trump gets into a loop, it’s hard to get him out. He’ll just talk in a circle until he’s bored and moves on to the next thing. He has fixated on Greenland and ruminated on his reflecting pool. Right now, though, his focus is The Communists. And as a new Reuters analysis reveals, he’s really into it: Over the past two weeks, Trump has brought up communism a full 81 times.
Communism is an old rhetorical obsession for Trump—who was in first grade when Joseph Stalin died—and his allies. In 2025, he introduced a “National Anti-Communism Week.” He blamed communists for his 2023 criminal indictments. During his 2020 campaign, he accused his opponents of (you guessed it) communism.
It may be a product of his deep relationship with Roy Cohn, a lackey of Red Scare architect Sen. Joseph McCarthy and Trump’s longtime mentor and personal lawyer.
But over the past week, the president appears to have hit overdrive, sermonizing against communism at fever pitch. And like his Red Scare predecessors, Trump is also using the label to go after immigrants, decrying a “resurgent communist menace” from “newcomers to our country” in a July 3 speech at Mount Rushmore—designed by an anti-immigrant crusader and Ku Klux Klan associate—that also characterized communism as “a mortal threat to American liberty” and “the greatest threat” to the United States, surpassing Pearl Harbor, both World Wars, the September 11 attacks, et cetera.
Resurrecting the idiocy of the ‘Red Scare’ from the 50s and 60s….
Donny and the idiots by his side are using a playbook of ‘getting the communists’….
“There’s a concerted effort to characterize opposition to ICE or opposition to the Trump administration as some form of conspiracy, as an effort to provoke terrorism,” says Mark Bray, author of “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook.” “There are a number of things that can be said about the various sentences, but perhaps the most obviously egregious is that handed out to Daniel Sanchez [Estrada]: 30 years for moving some zines, some literature, which is not illegal to possess.”
But apparently there is something that Donny admires about these ‘foes’ of democracy….
Speaking at the Faith and Freedom Coalition Policy Conference on Friday, Donald Trump said he’d be “The Greatest Communist in History.” The president also labelled Democrats as “godless Communists,” saying they are “the most serious threat to our Country since its founding 250 years ago.”
During his speech, Trump stated, “As you saw with the communists elected in New York City recently, they’re communists. They’re not social democrats.” He said, “They want to completely destroy the traditional American way of life. Communism is very easy to sell. It destroys everything, but it’s very easy.” Trump then made an unexpected remark, saying, “I’ll be honest, I think I’d be the greatest communist in history.”
If these people are such a threat to democracy then why does Donny think he would be a great communist?
Riddle me that.

This whole communist thing is, at least IMO, a sign of desperation on their part. They’ve been trying to demonize liberals and progressives for decades now. In evangelical circles, literally demonize them. Trump personally and the GOP as well are terrified that they’re going to lose control of the House and perhaps even the Senate in this upcoming election. And they know that if they do, that’s not only going to be the end of their little profitable enterprise, there’s a good chance a lot of them are not only going to lose their jobs they’re going to be impeached and quite possibly criminally prosecuted as soon as control of the DOJ, DHS and FBI is wrested from them.
So this whole communist thing is one last, desperate attempt to try to swing enough independent voters in their direction to minimize the damage in the upcoming election.

I find myself wondering that also, Chuq. The only way they can do anything about Trump personally is to impeach him. SCOTUS made sure of that by creating, out of whole cloth. that pack of bullshit about the president being immune to prosecution for what he does while in office. Right now Trump has firm control of the DOJ, FBI, etc. so Congress trying to prosecute just about anyone in the administration is going to be difficult. Plus rumor is that the presidential pardon machine is already in motion with pardons ready for Trump to sign for most or even all of his appointees if the Dems do take control of congress.
Then if they do impeach him successfully, that puts Vance in the WH and he is quite possibly even worse than Trump.
Personally I don’t think this congress, even if the dems take both houses, has the guts to do much of anything to rein in Trump and his collaborators.
I had read that about the pardons…..SCOTUS has protected Donny and his mates….they will do so again….Guts is seriously in short supply in Congress. chuq
Unfortunately I have already seen solid proof that no power broker in America is ever going to be either prosecuted or sent to jail…they all have get of jail free cards …and nothing is going to change in the short term.
Trump knows nothing at all about Communism, as he is obviously poorly-educated and ignorant. Like so many Americans before him, he uses the fear of Communism like telling a naughty child there is a monster in his closet that will get him if he’s bad. Unfortunately, there are tens of millions of Americans as uneducated as him about politics, and they will gladly lap up his rhetoric.

Trump says he’d be the greatest communist ever. His delusions have always been absurdly grandiose, but that one is just plain absurd! It doesn’t even make any sense. He vehemently hates communists, but he’d be the greatest one? Mary Trump recently said he was suffering from cognitive decline. I think it’s much, much worse than that.

I am surprised that he has not conflated communism with an ethnic population rather than members of a political party. In any case, if he sells it right and the propaganda machine does their work well, the results will be the same …democrats will end up wearing “D” on their clothing..etc., etc., ad infinitum.
