This is just another in my series of the meltdown by right wing rags with the growing popularity of DSA candidates.
The DSA recently help a meeting to discuss and implement a platform…..and once it became public knowledge the Right jumped on the call for the eliminations of the president and the elimination of the Senate.

I will be writing more about the riddance of the Senate a bit later. But I would like to hear more on their stand on the Supreme Court.
I do not think the panic is necessary but then it is the Right and they want to spread as much fear as possible.
Do not become enthralled with the crap these slugs spread.

We can lose our perspective being preoccupied with the details of a political platform. One cannot see the forest from among the trees. What’s more important is our support for democracy and our opposition to authoritarianism. The U.S. system has been thoroughly corrupted by big money and special interests. Let’s concentrate on that problem first. Yes, the U.S. Senate and U.S. Supreme Court are undemocratic and maybe even anti-democratic. But, let’s focus our priorities on the most immediate concerns. We can fix the rest later.

It does look daunting, for sure. I’m advocating for a narrower focus because we on the left are prone to quibbling over less important issues. We get distracted from the bigger picture very easily. To achieve an immensely difficult goal, a clearly defined and targeted strategy is required. Disparate allies must put aside their differences and work together.
Political party platforms tend to be broad-based in order to appeal to the larger electorate (e.g. the Democratic Party). However, this naturally leads to intra-party divisions. Since we on the progressive left are not only fighting against fascist Republicans but corporatist Democrats too, we can’t afford such divisions. We must be focused and we must be resolute.
To me, the constitutional structure of the federal government is a secondary issue at this time. Yes, it definitely needs to be fixed, but we must seize power first. Then, we can debate about what to do.
I’m just thinking as a strategist would. Your post here is very interesting and compelling. Hopefully, the day will come when we are in power and can consider how to build the optimal democracy which we all deserve.
I left my last party because I disagreed with their wasting money on presidential campaigns when they should be building a party line and working on important issues….I agree we on the Left have spent too much time arguing issues and let the prize slip through our fingers….we need to keep the pressure up and telling people what they need to hear…..chuq
I really want to be proved wrong, but I have a feeling that all this fearmongering about Democratic Socialists, racist smears, and allegations of Socialism and Communism, may badly damage the Democratic vote in the midterms. Add Trump’s intention to cancel postal voting, and any other way he can rig the election result, and the Democrats may not do well at all in November.
