Smokers Now, But Who Is Next?

Beginning April 1, the federal tax will increase 62 cents on a pack of cigarettes, bringing the total federal tax on a pack to $1.01.  Some tobacco companies already have increased their prices to help make up the difference.

I have read a piece that said the at least one million people have stop smoking ahead of the price increase.  Is that the desired outcome?  The higher price will force people to stop smoking or they will have to stop eating.

Has anyone stopped to consider something else?  Cigarette companies are a dying breed in the US….manufacturers.  The tax collect is to offset any future drain on the Medicaid/care system from the results of second hand smoke.  Cool, huh?

Are you ignorant?  Maybe just thick?  But that argument is just stupid!  Okay, let us say that millions of people stop smoking, thus stop buying the product….will not millions go to a US manufacturer that is in dire straits?  A bailout if you will.  So all the cash saved from those not smoking will be eaten up by another bailout of sorts.  Sounds like a sound, logical plan (that is sarcasm, in case you missed it).

So looking for another short term fix, these morons have created yet another failing industry that will most likely need bailing out.  What geniuses we elected!

With smoking eliminated what will be next?  Maybe everyone’s favorite liquor….or maybe those darn pesky fast food outlets.  Afterall, these institutions have and produce unhealthy side effects.

Once again the US government intervenes in the people’s private decisions….congrats morons!  You elected this group of idiots!

Where Is The Crime?

Tariq Aziz, for many years the public face of Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi regime, has been jailed for 15 years for his role in the execution of 42 merchants.

Aziz had denied any role in the summary trials of the men accused in 1992 of profiteering during economic sanctions.

I live in the path of Katrina, well actually at ground zero.  I watched as many people profitted from the disaster and the suffering of the people of my area.  Persoanlly, I think what Aziz did to those profiting from the sanctions anbd the misery of the Iraqi people was not a crime, just deserved punishment.

If this type of punishment was dealt out after disasters, it would go a long way at preventing others from trying to take advantage of others.  Extreme?  Of course….Deserved?…Damn right!

Before I get the round of the Saddam hating morons…I am talking about the act of profiteering, not the Saddam regime…..got that?

Gingrich Is A Moron!

And you thought you had heard all you were gonna hear from this guy….HA!

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich says Michigan should pay pregnant teenagers to take prenatal vitamins and stay healthy so the government avoids expensive costs when babies end up in neonatal intensive care units.

The Republican also told state senators Wednesday he supports paying poor children to read, and the state should consider paying girls to not get pregnant.

Gingrich is the founder of the Center for Health Transformation. He says politicians and the media spend too much time focusing on the finances of health care. Gingrich says more attention must be paid to cultural changes such as requiring students to exercise, putting grocery stores in the inner city and incentivizing people to not smoke.

Is he saying to pay teen girls to have sex but not get pregnant?  I believe there is a title for that activity.

Oh Goody! The Bitch Is Back!

Just when you thought you had heard all there is to hear about the bitch with the overactive womb….but….we were WRONG!

Southern California’s octuplets mother may be moving to a new home and getting help to raise her brood.

Nadya Suleman’s father Ed Doud is purchasing a $564,900 house in the city of La Habra in a deal is expected to close Friday, said Prudential Realty listing agent Mike Patel.

In a related development, television’s Dr. Phil McGraw said Monday that Suleman will accept a volunteer group’s offer of nursing care for her children.

The 2,583-square-foot house in La Habra, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles, has four bedrooms, three baths and a large, fenced-in backyard. The master bedroom features a walk-in closet

McGraw said in a statement that Suleman will accept childcare help from the nonprofit nursing group Angels in Waiting.

Suleman had previously said she wouldn’t accept the group’s offer to provide round-the-clock care because it would mean relocating to the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead, but a deal has been made to provide care at home, according to the statement.

Suleman is scheduled to appear on the “Dr. Phil” show Tuesday and Wednesday.

Okay people…now is the time to STOP letting this bitch have a voice in the media…..time to move past this whacko….

Employee Free Choice Could Save The Economy

This is a statement from the AFL-CIO blog:

AFL-CIO Now In a statement delivered today to Capitol Hill and published as a full-page advertisement in The Washington Post, more than three dozen of the nation’s top economists call on Congress to pass the Employee Free Choice Act to help restore an economy that works for everyone, built on a sustainable, wage-based growth.

The statement, signed by 39 of America’s top economists, including two Nobel Prize winners, points to the failure of U.S. labor laws to protect employees’ freedom to form a union and bargain as a major factor in our economic crisis. The statement says in part:

Indeed, from 2000 to 2007, the income of the median working-age household fell by $2,000—an unprecedented decline. In that time, virtually all of the nation’s economic growth went to a small number of wealthy Americans. An important reason for the shift from broadly shared prosperity to growing inequality is the erosion of workers’ ability to form unions and bargain collectively.

These economists, representing respected universities and policy institutions from across the nation, point to the corporate-dominated system for forming unions—and the coercion and anti-union campaigning by management—as the causes for declining wages and a gravely weakened economy.

A rising tide lifts all boats only when labor and management bargain on relatively equal terms. In recent decades, most bargaining power has resided with management. The current recession will further weaken the ability of workers to bargain individually. More than ever, workers will need to act together.

Although current headlines are dominated by the crises in the stock market and the financial sector, working families have been struggling for years under the weight of an unbalanced economy. These economists say that restoring bargaining power and ensuring working people have a voice in their workplace, and in their health care, pensions and wages, is critical to rebuilding our economy.

James K. Galbraith of the University of Texas, one of the economists who has signed on, says the freedom to form unions and bargain has many benefits for the economy and the country.

I support the Employee Free Choice Act for two reasons. First, it levels the playing field after a generation of anti-union policies, and in a world where far more workers are in decentralized, hard-to-organize workplaces than was true a generation back. Second, unions are a proven ally of progress, not only in politics but also in economics: unionized workforces promote technical change and productivity growth, because they make it possible to distribute more fairly and less brutally the costs of change.

Breast-aurants

You know what I am speaking of…places like Hooters.   In case you have not been it is a eatery with 20 something women in shorts and tank tops that are about 2 sizes too small and in some cases lots of cleavage.

I recently saws a piece about these types of eateries and they are being called “recession proof”.  They contend that with times getting tough…people will flock to these places as a form of escape from the outside world…at least for an hour or so.

The waitresses interviewed talk about their contribution to helping the community…..thinking….I guess showing half your tits, showing lots of leg and shaking you butt,  is in some small way a contribution.

But then the best part of the piece was when they interviewed the patrons.  They talked about the friendliness of the waitresses and the quality of the food….Wait!  The food?  These flipping perverts would eat crap on a plate if it came with a good dose of fake flirting and fine set of tits shoved in their faces.

So why not be honest?  You go there to see young tight bods, pushed up tits and lickable butts.  Bless their hearts…..but hopefully the women have something else in the fire besides the sexuality they try to ooze.  Hopefully they know that eventually gravity will take its toll…..youth is fleeting.

Let us all be truthful……admit it….you are a pervert and what better place to exercise your lustful fantasies than a Breast-aurant?  NO ONE subscribes to Playboy for the “articles”.  NO ONE “reads” Hustler.  And absolutely NO ONE goes to Hooters for the Nachos……

8 Is Enough Cash Cow

A former partner of the US woman who gave birth to octuplets in Los Angeles last month has said he could be their father, and that of their six siblings.

Denis Beaudoin told ABC News that he had donated sperm to his former girlfriend Nadya Suleman three times.

He has requested DNA paternity testing but said he would help Ms Suleman raise the children whatever the results.

ABC said Ms Suleman had denied Mr Beaudoin was the father but had agreed to paternity tests being carried out.

Mr Beaudoin told ABC’s Good Morning America that Ms Suleman had asked him to donate sperm as she had ovarian cancer and was unable to have children.

He said he thought her request was “out of the ordinary” but that he had agreed as he “cared about her so much”.

Mr Beaudoin said he was “shocked and surprised” when he heard that Ms Suleman had given birth on 26 January and that he did not believe her denials that he was the father.

Now here is a guy that is positioning himself to cash in on any monetary rewards that the woman gets.   He has already said he would help raise them no matter who the father is…then why go through this?

This a/hole is getting ready to try for the “lawsuit lotto”.

“They Are Here!”

Never mind Mars, alien life may be thriving right here on Earth, a major science conference has heard.

Our planet may harbor forms of “weird life” unrelated to life as we know it, according to Professor Paul Davies, a physicist at Arizona State University.

This “shadow life” may be hidden in toxic arsenic lakes or in boiling deep sea hydrothermal vents, he says.

Weird life could even be living among us, in forms which we don’t yet recognise, he told the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) meeting in Chicago.

The descendants of this “second genesis” may have survived until today in a “shadow biosphere” which is beyond our radar because its inhabitants have biochemistry so different from our own.

Holy crap!  That explains it perfectly!

I know explains what?

The broad that wants the world’s largest boobs, 34KKK…..or PETA……or that Jolie look-alike that squirted out 8 puupies with no job and wants donations to help pay for them to live……they are all alien life forms.

It Pays To Be A Judge

Two judges pleaded guilty on Thursday to accepting more than $2.6 million from a private youth detention centre in Pennsylvania in return for giving hundreds of youths and teenagers long sentences.

Judges Mark Ciavarella and Michael Conahan of the Court of Common Pleas in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, entered plea agreements in federal court in Scranton admitting that they took payoffs from PA Childcare and a sister company, Western PA Childcare, between 2003 and 2006.

When someone is sent to a detention centre, the company running the facility receives money from the county government to defray the cost of incarceration. So as more children were sentenced to the detention centre, PA Childcare and Western PA Childcare received more money from the government, prosecutors said.

Teenagers who came before Ciavarella in juvenile court often were sentenced to detention centres for minor offences that would typically have been classified as misdemeanours, according to the Juvenile Law Centre, a Philadelphia nonprofit group.

One 17-year-old boy was sentenced to three months’ detention for being in the company of another minor caught shoplifting.

Others were given similar sentences for “simple assault” resulting from a schoolyard scuffle that would normally draw a warning, a spokeswoman for the Juvenile Law Centre said.

The Constitution guarantees the right to legal representation in U.S. courts. But many of the juveniles appeared before Ciavarella without an attorney because they were told by the probation service that their minor offences didn’t require one.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court removed Ciavarella and Conahan from their duties after federal prosecutors filed charges on January 26. The court has also appointed a judge to review all the cases involved.

Well Irene, that is your judicial system hard at work bringing justice to every corner of the country…….if convicted maybe these guys should be put in with the people that they have sentenced over the years so they all can become better acquainted.

Are You Angry Yet?

I have not seen too much anger over the crap about the bailout…I mean Wall Street is raping the taxpayer blind and they smile and ask for more…..What will make you micro-cephalics mad?

How about this little tidbit?

A big share of the financial burden of raising Nadya Suleman’s 14 children could fall on the shoulders of California’s taxpayers, compounding the public furor in a state already billions of dollars in the red.

Even before the 33-year-old single, unemployed mother gave birth to octuplets last month, she had been caring for her six other children with the help of $490 a month in food stamps, plus Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters. The public aid will almost certainly be increased with the new additions to her family.

Also, the hospital where the octuplets are expected to spend seven to 12 weeks has requested reimbursement from Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program, for care of the premature babies, according to the Los Angeles Times. The cost has not been disclosed.

Nadya Suleman Family Web Site has been set up to collect donations for the children. It features pictures of the mother and each octuplet and has instructions for making donations by check or credit card.

Suleman, whose six older children range in age from 2 to 7, said three of them receive disability payments. She told NBC one is autistic, another has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, known as ADHD, and a third experienced a mild speech delay with “tiny characteristics of autism.” She refused to say how much they get in payments.

In California, a low-income family can receive Social Security payments of up to $793 a month for each disabled child. Three children would amount to $2,379.

The Suleman octuplets’ medical costs have not been disclosed, but in 2006, the average cost for a premature baby‘s hospital stay in California was $164,273, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Eight times that equals $1.3 million.

For a single mother, the cost of raising 14 children through age 17 ranges from $1.3 million to $2.7 million, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Now the bitch has gone into hiding….why?  There have been really negative phone calls and emails…even some threatening her.  Let me see…she goes on TV almost bragginbg about what she is doing and she expects people to wish her well?

Told you she was a fucking moron?

Now does this “welfare” pirate anger you?  If not, then please stop bitching about the “welfare moms” that are just riding the system for personal gain without ever having to get a job.

This broad is an idiot–people who allowed this to happen are morons–The doctor is a a/hole looking for fame–and the people who defend this are fucking stupid!
