The Coming National Election–2028

I am an unashamed political junkie and am always looking for reports that can help inform the people that visit IST….there is some disturbing writings about 2028…..

It should be a shoo-in for Dems but it is not looking so ducky for them but we are a ways out from the vote and things can change….

First, I know there are many ‘independents’ (I hate that term) which are moderates and their choices are not looking good right now….

The choices they are looking at is the Left and far Right….

I am writing this text with the Americas and Europe in mind, but the phenomena I analyze apply, with modifications, to other regions of the world. We are on the brink of a new world war, facing imminent ecological collapse, witnessing the end of international law, and the end of the distinction between democracy and autocracy. The political paradigm of Eurocentric modernity has globalized to the extent that it has transformed democracy (liberal democracy) into the only legitimate political regime. Based on concrete examples, it is time to acknowledge that this historical process has run its course and is producing perverse effects: liberal democracy exists today primarily to create and legitimize dictatorships; democratic institutions are committing suicide as a normal way of operating. There is resistance, but it will only be effective if those who resist have the clarity to recognize the gravity of what is happening and the importance of what is at stake

Let’s look at ‘swing voters’….those moderates or centrist or whatever one chooses to call oneself….

Swing voters in North Carolina say they are frustrated with President Trump and the state of the economy, but aren’t ready to abandon him or his party as the midterms inch closer.

NPR observed two online focus groups on Tuesday featuring 12 voters in North Carolina who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 and then Trump in 2024. These focus groups were conducted by messaging and market research firms Engagious and Sago as part of the Swing Voter Project.

Seven of the voters who participated identified as independents, four said they were Republicans, and one identified as a Democrat. That’s a more Republican-leaning cohort than prior months’ focus groups.

That is scary results….so anyone but Donny may not care much weight at the polls.

It seems MAGA Repubs are taking over and the conserv party we once knew may soon be a thing of the past.

President Donald Trump has remade the Republican Party in his own image, but that transformation could prove costly in future elections, according to a new report.

The share of GOP voters identifying as MAGA Republicans has skyrocketed over the past four years, climbing from 38 percent in September 2022 to 62 percent in May 2026, YouGov/Economist surveys have found.

“It’s a change that has occurred with remarkable speed,” Brookings senior fellows Elaine Kamarck and E.J. Dionne Jr. wrote in a new analysis.

Just in the past month, the 79-year-old president demonstrated that his dominance over the Republican Party remains as strong as ever. Candidates he endorsed swept primaries across the country, unseating multiple incumbents who had openly criticized him — over the ongoing Iran war and the Epstein files.

Yet at the same time, non-MAGA Republicans have moved steadily further from the president, according to polls. While this group only constitutes a slice of the party, it will play a crucial role in determining the GOP’s future, partly because MAGA enthusiasts make up only a minority of the overall electorate.

2028, as of today, is turning out to be a chaotic mess…..and no matter who wins this thing not much will change in this country….sorry to be a bummer.

The American Revolution Isn’t Over!

WE hear daily from both sides of the political spectrum that America is now past the revolution part and on to claiming it’s spot in history…..and from the Left the revolution is still going on until we have equality, rights that are not transient, etc,,,,,,but what is the down and the low?

This is an article from Reason…..to me it sounds like a libertarian site…..(but you decide)….

What was the American Revolution actually about?

We all remember the broad strokes we learned in school: Independence from the British crown. Taxes on tea. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

But on a deeper level, the American Revolution was—and is—a revolution in political theory, reimagining what a legitimate government is and what its relationship to its citizens should be.

Washington’s troops won the ground war 245 years ago at Yorktown, but the ideological battle continues against forces on both the left and the right who are pursuing a ruthless assault on America’s core values. The American Revolution isn’t over.

Inscribed inside the dome of the Jefferson Memorial are the words: “I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.” Thomas Jefferson wrote that in an 1800 letter, but that feeling of hostility toward the tyranny of a distant monarch is what drove him and his fellow revolutionaries in 1776.

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch summarized the Declaration’s core ideas in an interview with Reason: “The Declaration of Independence had three great ideas in it. That all of us are equal. That each of us has inalienable rights given to us by God, not government. And that we have the right to rule ourselves.”

That’s why Jefferson declared that a legitimate government requires the “consent of the governed.” Thomas Paine put it more scathingly in his 1776 pamphlet Common Sense, writing that “government by kings was first introduced into the world by the Heathens.” Monarchy was the Devil’s most effective and enduring form of “idolatry.”

We don’t fret over tyrannical kings in today’s America. Only ceremonial vestiges of hereditary monarchy remain in the modern world. The Revolution achieved a complete victory in that sense.

Yet a counterrevolution is underway, one that views the American Revolution and the republic it birthed as a failed liberal regime that has outlived its usefulness. And these counterrevolutionaries sit remarkably close to the levers of power.

Sorry But Democrats Are Losers

In more ways than one.

Yes they lose consistently in the elections but that is not the full extent of their betrayal of the voter….once elected they fall into the same cycle of corruption and deceit.

Dems play to the working class at every election they get equally corrupt labor unions to sponsor them and they go around feeling faux sympathy for the working population….and it is a fake concern.

Working-class voters have been telling pollsters for 60 years that the political system doesn’t hear them. Democrats, over the same period, have grown more comfortable with the institutions working-class voters have increasingly less faith in.

This distrust stems from specific experiences: deindustrialization that happened on government’s watch, trade deals that economists endorsed and workers paid for, a 2008 financial crisis response that saved the banks and foreclosed on their homes, an opioid epidemic that regulators missed entirely.

To be fair, this is precisely what the new crop of reform candidates say they want to fix. The argument that the right candidate can move the needle is not crazy. Candidate quality matters. Personal trust can substitute for institutional trust, at least at the margins.

But economic-grievance politics is a very small slice of what working-class voters are telling us. The data documents a comprehensive, decades-long divergence in how working-class voters and mainstream Democrats understand fairness, government, personal responsibility and social change.

Reducing that to class war jams working-class voters into a prefabricated progressive agenda rather than taking seriously what they are actually saying.

Do you agree with the ‘findings’?

I kinda disagree with the conclusion….I believe it is a class war and the Robber Barons are winning.

That brings us to the real problem….Democratic candidates….are they truly representative of what the people want? Not even close!

Just look at the most recent elections….the vote proved that few wanted Biden or Harris but yet they were part of the ‘good old boys’ club so the nod went to them….Biden won only because he was not Trump, that is not a resounding endorsement now is it?

Democratic voters want a fighter as a candidate yet they do not support a fighter instead the succumb to the blase mumbo-jumbo of centrist cowards.

These are what Dem voters say they want….

The three top attributes that Democrats want in a nominee are:

A fighter for working people (88%).
Who works across the aisle to get things done (76%)
And is authentic in his/her beliefs (72%)

Let’s look closer….

Fighter for working people, whatever the ideology: 88% of Democratic primary voters say they would “vote for someone I don’t agree with on every issue as long as they are strong and will fight for the working people of this country.” Likewise, the most appealing candidate profile was “fighter” (86% appealing):“This candidate has the guts to stand up to Trump and the MAGA wing of the Republican Party.”
Authentic: 72% of Democratic primary voters would “vote for someone I don’t agree with on every issue as long as they are authentic and true to what they believe in.” And 59% prefer a candidate who is “authentic, relatable, and down-to-earth, even if they don’t line up with you ideologically on every issue,” over one who “stands with you on most of the major issues.” Moderates (63%) and somewhats (62%) chose authenticity; only socialists chose ideological alignment (57%).
Bipartisan dealmaker: 76% of Democratic primary voters prefer a candidate “who works across the aisle to get things done, even if it means compromising sometimes,” over a candidate “who sticks to their progressive beliefs, even if it means getting less done.”

What crap!

That is what the voter wants if so then name one nominee that has done any of those three desires.

I will admit the centrist try to work across the aisle but that is only for show for they know they will not succeed….but it makes a good show….and authentic? Name me one Dem that has been ‘authentic” once they are elected….I will wait.

Let’s be honest….things will not be different this time around….the nominee will be a centrists and the desires of the working class will be just a memory once they hit the high life.

The DNC makes me sick.

Let’s be honest….Dems are as useful as breasts on a flashlight.

Instead of snuggling up to big business they crap on the working people of this country.

And sadly it will happen again and continue happening until the voter wakes the fuck up.

To Those That Fear Socialism

The Far Right is pulling no punches to instill fear in the voters because the DSA has made great progress in the elections….they even go as far as saying that people are voting for a Soviet style candidate.

To that I say….total bullshit!

But if they, those that are fearing the “socialist wave”, if you will, there is a simple, maybe not as simple as I make out, to calm the fear….

Everywhere I look, I see people expressing alarm about the popularity of socialism. It polls in the mid-to-high 30s, and considerably higher among younger people. Older people, who have a living memory of the various socialist regimes that once dotted the planet, which at best didn’t deliver prosperity to their people and at worst threw them in jail by the thousands, can’t understand how this could be and seem to want to talk endlessly about it.

I, however, marvel at the other consistent result of all these polls, which these people don’t seem nearly as interested in talking about. I refer to the ratings Americans give to capitalism. They’re terrible. A big Gallup poll from last fall is representative. Socialism won the approval of 39 percent, while capitalism’s positive number was 54 percent.

That is pathetic—barely half the country! In the country that invented modern capitalism and where it is worshipped by the elite class! And you know what? It’s entirely deserved. In fact, it deserves to be a little worse (as it is among Democrats). The kind of capitalism we’ve been practicing in this country over the last 40-plus years is cruel, corrupt, and a perversion of what humane capitalism ought to be. The people who are so freaked out about socialism ought to realize that the only way they’re going to arrest its rise is to change capitalism for the better.

From the founding of the country until the stock market crash of 1929, the general belief was that government should be small and markets should not be regulated. Some people say it worked pretty well until 1929, but in fact, that isn’t true. It worked well enough to perpetuate itself, because if capitalism is anything it’s elastic and dynamic, but that’s about it.

This is saying that capitalism should be fixed and maybe progressives would not be gaining popularity.

I think that is an excellent idea but let’s be honest….the oligarchs have a stranglehold on the economy and the government and fixing the problem will entail some harsh policies….policies that I do not think many will support.

The reality is if profitability drops all reform must disappear. That as it is today is the sad reality. Then the question needs asking….can capitalism be reformed?

My opinion is no it cannot be reformed successfully….if that is the case then we need to replace it.

Great Ideas But Sucky Execution

I have been voting since 1972 and in that time I have only voted for one winner, 1976….not something to be proud of I realize but it also says a lot about the quality of the candidates……basically the quality sucks!

I have said over the years that liberals have great ideas but truly suck at the game of politics. They seem to not have the balls to go after the prize with gusto they sit back and pray for bi-partisanship….a pipe dream.

The New Republic tries to explain why liberals are such pansies when it comes to politics.

The editors ask if today’s liberalism is equipped to win “this battle,” too sprawling a question rooted in too runny a concept. We have more than just one current battle! Then, after the mystery of the “battle,” there’s the gooey concept of “today’s liberalism.” For this historian, “today” reaches back into the early twentieth century, where “liberalism” as a living, breathing, inspiring-but-myopic phenomenon resides in my own historical imagination. I know histories of liberalism date its origins to anti-monarchy, to the Enlightenment of the eighteenth century. But in American history, where monarchy was a foreign idea and slaveholding handicapped the Founding Fathers’ civic imagination, liberalism only truly starts to come alive in the Progressive era. The founding of The New Republic in 1914 embodied liberalism institutionally. While definitions of liberalism vary tremendously, The New Republic and its history offer means of thinking about a concept with a political history that is, in large part, a partisan history.

Erstwhile TNR editor Franklin Foer sees former Republican President Theodore Roosevelt as a crucial figure in The New Republic’s birth. Roosevelt’s 1912 National Progressive Party presidential campaign did not succeed, but his campaign platform called for including a minimum wage and “a single national health service.” Roosevelt’s blessing signaled TNR’s founders of the approval, Foer says, of “T.R.’s social set—Harvard and Yale men with an intellectual proclivity and a progressive bent.” At the time, they were most likely Republicans.

TNR’s founders were the crème de la crème of American “progressivism,” a description they initially preferred to “liberalism,” which they associated with Democratic President Woodrow Wilson’s Southern, states’ rights, small government creed. TNR’s founders’ book titles broadcast their optimism: Herbert Croly, a Harvard man married to a wealthy wife, had published The Promise of American Life in 1909 and Progressive Democracy in 1914, both with the Macmillan Company, among the most prestigious publishers of the time. Walter Weyl, a Wharton School-Penn man who also married into wealth, published The New Democracy: An Essay on Certain Political and Economic Tendencies in the United States with Macmillan in 1912. Another founder, Walter Lippmann, also a Harvard man, had published his influential A Preface to Politics with the New York publisher Mitchell Kennerley in 1913. These were no obscure, self-publishing radicals, and they received sizable and repeated infusions of money from the cotton-gin-Whitney heiress Dorothy Payne Whitney and her investment banker husband, Willard Straight, a Cornell man.

The Progressive Party’s 1912 platform included a brief “Equal Suffrage” plank advocating voting rights for women but made no mention of the disfranchisement of Black men in the South. This omission carried over in the Progressive Party’s credentials committee’s recognition of white Southern delegates and its refusal to seat Southern Black delegates. This is where early-twentieth-century liberalism gets personal for me.

A very nice trip down memory lane but it did not address the lack of backbone of liberals once elected.

I think the Progressive Party had great ideas and a goddamn shame they did not get a chance to prove it…..their ideas translate well into the 21st century….and then money happened.

There has always been money in politics I am not naive but the court allowed boat loads of it to travel through the political system…..and when you have that much corruption you get the system as it is today….broken and dysfunctional.

Can White People Survive Without Racism?

This is a question that needs to be asked….and it is a perfectly timed question.

Let me preface why I am posting this…..I grew up in Spain and at 15 we moved back to the States and Mississippi to be accurate that was 1962 so I fell into the world segregation and racism and I have been living here since those days……so I have seen the awfulness of segregation, the civil rights movement and so on and during all these ‘changes’ one thing has remained the same…..the racism and the hatred of people of color….so the MAGA movement fit into these people’s beliefs perfectly.

I do not do generalities but since I have lived through the changes in the South I feel this is a question that needs and answer…..so I turn to a social historian….

This is not a question of hatred. It is a question of history.

More honestly: can America, and much of the Western world, function without the economic, political, and psychological advantages created by white supremacy?

For more than 400 years, the United States has built wealth, power, and institutional control through systems rooted in racial exclusion. From stolen Indigenous land to enslaved African labor, from redlining to mass incarceration, from the Tuskegee experiment to discriminatory lending, racism was not a side effect of American history—it was a central business model.

The Bible warns in Proverbs 22:16: “Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase… will come to poverty.” America must confront whether its prosperity was built on justice—or theft.

The numbers tell the story.

According to Pew Research Center, the median wealth of Black households remains dramatically below that of white households, while lower-income white households had about 21 times the wealth of lower-income Black households in 2021. This is not accidental. It is the long shadow of policy: slavery without reparations, Jim Crow without restoration, and civil rights without economic repair.

Forty acres and a mule never came.

But redlining did.

Mass incarceration did.

Predatory policing did.

Environmental poisoning of Black neighborhoods did.

HBCUs had to be created because Black people were excluded from predominantly white institutions. Black Wall Streets were built because Black people were denied equal access to white economic systems. Welfare policies often destabilized Black families while industrial policies extracted labor and left fragile infrastructure behind.

And globally, the same pattern exists.

This is a situation that use to lie beneath the surface where people at least attempted to hide their disdain for people of color but since 2008 that disdain has grown into the hatred….yes I said hatred….that lives today.

I know we can say that no one is racism free for we all have a twinge of it in some fashion….but what is happening today is not a twinge it is full blown overt racism sprinkled with hatred.

I think the dude that wrote the paper made some excellent points…..meet the man ….

Democrat Dinosaurs Are Butt Hurt

The corporate Dems are mall flustered by the success the DSA is having in the elections around the country….and the MSM is giving them all the air time they want….this will help the corrupt party win….so they think.

The problem is that the DSA has gained in popularity and the fossils of the party are scared they will lose their dominance….

A new CNN poll conducted by SSRS has found that roughly a third of Democrats now describe themselves as democratic socialists, underscoring the growing footprint of the party’s left flank ahead of November’s midterm elections.

According to the data, those who identify with the label skew younger, are more likely to be white, and tend to earn under $100,000 annually compared with the broader Democratic electorate. The poll also found this group reports being especially motivated to turn out and vote in the midterms, a potential signal of the energy the movement could bring to down-ballot races this fall.

One In Three Democrats Now Identify As Democratic Socialists, New Poll Finds

I have written in the past about Dem strategist Carville….I think it is time for this dinosaur to retire…and take the corporate influence with him….now he is threatening….

James Carville says there’s one Democratic Party he won’t belong to—and it’s one where left-wing Twtich star Hasan Piker holds sway. The veteran strategist told Fox News on Sunday that if Piker becomes a meaningful force inside the party, “I’m out of here.” The comments come ahead of Michigan’s closely watched Democratic primary on Tuesday pitting moderate Rep. Haley Stevens against progressive Abdul El-Sayed. Piker has been a prominent supporter of El-Sayed, who holds a double-digit lead in the polls, notes the Hill.

“I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy,” said Carville of Piker, adding that he thinks the “overwhelming majority of Democrats agree with me.” The clash comes as progressive and democratic socialist candidates, often aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America, notch primary wins over establishment-backed Democrats. Piker made the case to CNN that Democratic voters want alternative candidates after losses at the federal level by Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton. “There are a lot of people who are just like, ‘This is not working.'” But Carville pointed to Bernie Sanders’ losses as well. “I have one simple philosophy about politics: Winning is everything, stupid,” he told CNN.

My first thought was….Bye now….do not let the door hit you in the ass.

He had his day with Bubba Clinton and like Bubba it is time for him to STFU and fade away.

Go away and let this country move forward.

This country needs progress not regressive corruption that he represents…

Realizing the goal of a universal, high-quality, Medicare For All health care system for all.
Advancing the right of every American to retire with security and dignity.
Ending poverty and income inequality and securing a living wage for all people.
Protecting the fundamental right to organize.
Ending mass incarceration and advancing equal justice under the law.
Taking urgent, inclusive, and transformative action on climate change.
Upholding the fundamental reproductive rights of all people.
Ending our forever wars, cutting the bloated Pentagon budget, and prioritizing diplomacy.
Advancing humane, fair and just immigration laws.
Advancing racial justice and equity.

The Reconstruction Papers

Just like the 1870s the US will need a reconstruction period after we successfully remove the hemorrhoid of a president ….lots of work will be needed to repair a struggling nation.

First of all I hate the word ‘liberal’ it does not describe anything other than opposition of conserv policies.

This paper covers many subjects and issues, all 184 pages, it is a bit much for those that could care less but for those that truly care about the direction of this country it is a source of information.

Personally I think the agenda should be more radical…..fight radicalism with radicalism….mamby pamby issues will do little to repair this nation….but that is just me.

There are movements that are fighting back…..

It is difficult to find inspiration on this Juneteenth. We are still living in difficult times. In the last year, hundreds of thousands of African Americans have lost jobs. Some state legislatures in the South — Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi — have sought to dilute Black political power after the Supreme Court issued its Louisiana v. Callais decision. Meanwhile, this new administration has enacted a white nationalist immigration policy — effectively closing the Southern border; throwing undocumented people into prisons and camps; deporting thousands, including children; and unleashing the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) onto blue cities like Los Angeles and Minneapolis. However, there is hope to be found even in the bleakest of times, as our strong movements continue to challenge growing authoritarianism.

While we live in a more reactionary moment, we are also witnessing powerful collective actions and expressions of solidarity. What is demonstrated in the current opposition to this administration’s mass deportation strategy and its support for anti-Black policies is the willingness of more people to not just engage in important mass protests like “No Kings,” but also to engage in ongoing collective self-defense. Many participants in political struggle demonstrate a willingness to sacrifice for the greater purpose of defending and protecting vulnerable people.

Despite the State’s Attempts to Stamp Out Opposition, Our Movements Persevere

It is time for the real patriots to step up…..stop whining and get involved….and for god’s sake pull your head out of the sand and stand proud.

The Global Antifa

I am antifa!

That does not mean I am a member of some group but it does mean I hate f**king fascists ergo antifascist ergo antifa.

I have written many times about the myth of some nefarious organization whose members are organized and a threat….this concept is a constructed myth.

A quick history lesson…..

The word stands for anti-fascist, and it appears to have originated in Germany in the 1930s and then resurfaced again in the 1970s. With the election of President Donald Trump in 2016, small organizations with that name have cropped up in a few American cities. But, for the most part, labelling protesters as members of “antifa” — or, as Trump likes to say, “professional anarchists” — is often either a red herring or a false flag operation used to frighten gullible citizens.

In early June, for example, a fake Twitter account pretending to be from “antifa” called for violence. It turned out to be a scam orchestrated by white nationalists.

“Antifa,” as a code word used to rile up fear and paranoia, has been lobbed especially at Black Lives Matter activists. Trump and Attorney General William Barr have repeatedly said that demonstrators leading the protests for racial justice are antifa, even though independent analyses by National Public Radio and the The New York Times of federal arrests of protesters don’t actually show anyone with these connections.

Trump and Fox News are tireless promoters of such scare tactics. On August 31, when the President was interviewed by Fox host Laura Ingraham, he suggested that Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s campaign was being run by a secret cabal of “people you’ve never heard about, people that are in the dark shadows.” These menacing insinuations mirror the way the term antifa is used in right-wing media — not with precision or even sincerity, but as an incantation or curse. Now for the Global antifa myth…..

In September 2025, Donald Trump designated “antifa” a domestic terror organization. Last month, his administration went one step further by declaring that the “extreme left” had developed the antifa network into a global threat. Marco Rubio announced at a press conference on July 16 that

Antifa militants and their comrades travel from across Europe and to the Americas to participate in each other’s attacks, to funnel propaganda and training, materials, and target information through shared encrypted channels — moving through underground networks of safe houses, and finance and sustain their operations through transnational funds.

This description sounds eerily like what global far-right networks have been doing for years. The “antidem” network, crisscrossing the Atlantic and ranging up and down the Americas, has helped far-right politicians take over parties, those parties take power, and those resulting governments coordinate anti-immigrant, anti-climate, anti-LGBT, and fundamentally anti-democratic policies. This effort is well-funded by right-wing sugar daddies like Elon Musk and Robert Shillman.

In the United States, even more extreme right-wing militants have been responsible for 152 attacks and 112 deaths between 2016 and 2025, compared to 35 attacks and 13 deaths by the extreme left (according to the right-leaning Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Fascism, not anti-fascism, is the threat, both domestically and internationally.

It’s a common Trumpian tactic: to blame adversaries for that which the accuser has perfected. Thus, according to Trump, his enemies are always lying; they’re completely corrupt; they are anti-democratic. This from the most mendacious, corrupt, and anti-democratic force in modern politics. Remember the canard that it was actually “antifa” that caused all the havoc during the obviously right-wing insurrection on January 6? What better way to throw people off the scent of a vast right-wing conspiracy than to assert that something much more sinister is percolating on the left.

In practice, the administration is engaged in a category error. It assumes that organized opposition presupposes an organization. But, as Gertrude Stein once said rather cruelly of her hometown of Oakland, there’s no “there” there. Fascism has experienced a successful rebrand in the age of Trump. Lots of people and institutions are organizing against this fascism. But what the Trump administration calls “antifa” just doesn’t exist.

Hell antifa was even blamed for Donny’s pool ‘sabotage’……we are not the scapegoat for Donny and the thugz he travels with….

Is Personal Loss That Acceptable?

The people of this country have lost plenty under the heavy hand of Donny and the Goon Squad…..health benefits, food assistance, educational benefits, voting rights, personal health decisions etc and yet with all that loss few people are standing up most are accepting the loss and looking toward 2028.

Why are there no more protests than a few “no Kings Day”?

What has happened to the spirit of right and wrong?

Being an American with a firm grasp of reality and a dose of empathy is pretty difficult at this time. We see the comments after articles from our neighbors. Their responses move from irrational to apologist, exhibiting a vision of the country that seems like hell to many of us. Somehow, it seems to be reassuring to them to have cruelty’s back. These comments show up all over the place, especially after any articles that pertain to what is happening in Minneapolis and the state-sanctioned murder of Renee Good.

We see anything from she shouldn’t have hit him with her car (obviously terrifying that our fellow Americans can watch that footage and think this is what happened) or that she shouldn’t have been “blocking the way” (also a frequent refrain and ironically, what many from the far right cite as their reason to be able to run into protesters with their own cars). Yes, many of the more repetitive and divisive comments are definitely from bot farms, but the fact that many are not is chilling.

The cult members among us– they contort their views to match what their leader wants them to believe. These are the Americans who were enthralled by “Pizzagate” but, having been presented with mountains of credible evidence against their leader of the same nature, are managing to find themselves in something of a pro-pedophile realm. I think we can probably understand their belief system more effectively if we look to the Manson family member behaviors as a relevant case study instead of traditional Democrat/Republican affiliation narratives.

I do believe this is an important point for our friends outside of the United States to understand. I often see many asking why we don’t simply decide not to comply. They wonder why we don’t take to the streets in such numbers that they would have to bend to our will. A major reason is that this large, though minority group of regime supporters is very much a part of our national fabric. It’s difficult to unravel something that took so many years to construct, that of a bootlicking, Empire approving, acquiescent populace. It’s not like we are dealing with one crazy grandpa in a 10-mile radius. It’s far more widespread and disturbing than this.

I am a child of the 60s and 70s….we protested everything that we saw as wrong and anti-American….we protested war, civil rights, voting rights, abortion rights, you name it we had a protest if it was wrong….and boy were a lot of things wrong in those days.

Today everyone takes to social media to voice their disapproval when they should be taking to the streets….social media is wonderful for voicing one’s disgust or opinions but will it really change anything?
