The corporate Dems are mall flustered by the success the DSA is having in the elections around the country….and the MSM is giving them all the air time they want….this will help the corrupt party win….so they think.

The problem is that the DSA has gained in popularity and the fossils of the party are scared they will lose their dominance….

A new CNN poll conducted by SSRS has found that roughly a third of Democrats now describe themselves as democratic socialists, underscoring the growing footprint of the party’s left flank ahead of November’s midterm elections.

According to the data, those who identify with the label skew younger, are more likely to be white, and tend to earn under $100,000 annually compared with the broader Democratic electorate. The poll also found this group reports being especially motivated to turn out and vote in the midterms, a potential signal of the energy the movement could bring to down-ballot races this fall.

One In Three Democrats Now Identify As Democratic Socialists, New Poll Finds

I have written in the past about Dem strategist Carville….I think it is time for this dinosaur to retire…and take the corporate influence with him….now he is threatening….

James Carville says there’s one Democratic Party he won’t belong to—and it’s one where left-wing Twtich star Hasan Piker holds sway. The veteran strategist told Fox News on Sunday that if Piker becomes a meaningful force inside the party, “I’m out of here.” The comments come ahead of Michigan’s closely watched Democratic primary on Tuesday pitting moderate Rep. Haley Stevens against progressive Abdul El-Sayed. Piker has been a prominent supporter of El-Sayed, who holds a double-digit lead in the polls, notes the Hill.

“I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy,” said Carville of Piker, adding that he thinks the “overwhelming majority of Democrats agree with me.” The clash comes as progressive and democratic socialist candidates, often aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America, notch primary wins over establishment-backed Democrats. Piker made the case to CNN that Democratic voters want alternative candidates after losses at the federal level by Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton. “There are a lot of people who are just like, ‘This is not working.'” But Carville pointed to Bernie Sanders’ losses as well. “I have one simple philosophy about politics: Winning is everything, stupid,” he told CNN.

My first thought was….Bye now….do not let the door hit you in the ass.

He had his day with Bubba Clinton and like Bubba it is time for him to STFU and fade away.

Go away and let this country move forward.

This country needs progress not regressive corruption that he represents…

Ending our forever wars, cutting the bloated Pentagon budget, and prioritizing diplomacy.
Advancing humane, fair and just immigration laws.
Advancing racial justice and equity.

The Reconstruction Papers

Just like the 1870s the US will need a reconstruction period after we successfully remove the hemorrhoid of a president ….lots of work will be needed to repair a struggling nation.

First of all I hate the word ‘liberal’ it does not describe anything other than opposition of conserv policies.

This paper covers many subjects and issues, all 184 pages, it is a bit much for those that could care less but for those that truly care about the direction of this country it is a source of information.

Personally I think the agenda should be more radical…..fight radicalism with radicalism….mamby pamby issues will do little to repair this nation….but that is just me.

There are movements that are fighting back…..

It is difficult to find inspiration on this Juneteenth. We are still living in difficult times. In the last year, hundreds of thousands of African Americans have lost jobs. Some state legislatures in the South — Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi — have sought to dilute Black political power after the Supreme Court issued its Louisiana v. Callais decision. Meanwhile, this new administration has enacted a white nationalist immigration policy — effectively closing the Southern border; throwing undocumented people into prisons and camps; deporting thousands, including children; and unleashing the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) onto blue cities like Los Angeles and Minneapolis. However, there is hope to be found even in the bleakest of times, as our strong movements continue to challenge growing authoritarianism.

While we live in a more reactionary moment, we are also witnessing powerful collective actions and expressions of solidarity. What is demonstrated in the current opposition to this administration’s mass deportation strategy and its support for anti-Black policies is the willingness of more people to not just engage in important mass protests like “No Kings,” but also to engage in ongoing collective self-defense. Many participants in political struggle demonstrate a willingness to sacrifice for the greater purpose of defending and protecting vulnerable people.

Despite the State’s Attempts to Stamp Out Opposition, Our Movements Persevere

The Global Antifa

I am antifa!

That does not mean I am a member of some group but it does mean I hate f**king fascists ergo antifascist ergo antifa.

I have written many times about the myth of some nefarious organization whose members are organized and a threat….this concept is a constructed myth.

A quick history lesson…..

The word stands for anti-fascist, and it appears to have originated in Germany in the 1930s and then resurfaced again in the 1970s. With the election of President Donald Trump in 2016, small organizations with that name have cropped up in a few American cities. But, for the most part, labelling protesters as members of “antifa” — or, as Trump likes to say, “professional anarchists” — is often either a red herring or a false flag operation used to frighten gullible citizens.

In early June, for example, a fake Twitter account pretending to be from “antifa” called for violence. It turned out to be a scam orchestrated by white nationalists.

“Antifa,” as a code word used to rile up fear and paranoia, has been lobbed especially at Black Lives Matter activists. Trump and Attorney General William Barr have repeatedly said that demonstrators leading the protests for racial justice are antifa, even though independent analyses by National Public Radio and the The New York Times of federal arrests of protesters don’t actually show anyone with these connections.

Trump and Fox News are tireless promoters of such scare tactics. On August 31, when the President was interviewed by Fox host Laura Ingraham, he suggested that Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s campaign was being run by a secret cabal of “people you’ve never heard about, people that are in the dark shadows.” These menacing insinuations mirror the way the term antifa is used in right-wing media — not with precision or even sincerity, but as an incantation or curse. And they are obsessed with it.

Now for the Global antifa myth…..

In September 2025, Donald Trump designated “antifa” a domestic terror organization. Last month, his administration went one step further by declaring that the “extreme left” had developed the antifa network into a global threat. Marco Rubio announced at a press conference on July 16 that

Antifa militants and their comrades travel from across Europe and to the Americas to participate in each other’s attacks, to funnel propaganda and training, materials, and target information through shared encrypted channels — moving through underground networks of safe houses, and finance and sustain their operations through transnational funds.

This description sounds eerily like what global far-right networks have been doing for years. The “antidem” network, crisscrossing the Atlantic and ranging up and down the Americas, has helped far-right politicians take over parties, those parties take power, and those resulting governments coordinate anti-immigrant, anti-climate, anti-LGBT, and fundamentally anti-democratic policies. This effort is well-funded by right-wing sugar daddies like Elon Musk and Robert Shillman.

In the United States, even more extreme right-wing militants have been responsible for 152 attacks and 112 deaths between 2016 and 2025, compared to 35 attacks and 13 deaths by the extreme left (according to the right-leaning Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Fascism, not anti-fascism, is the threat, both domestically and internationally.

It’s a common Trumpian tactic: to blame adversaries for that which the accuser has perfected. Thus, according to Trump, his enemies are always lying; they’re completely corrupt; they are anti-democratic. This from the most mendacious, corrupt, and anti-democratic force in modern politics. Remember the canard that it was actually “antifa” that caused all the havoc during the obviously right-wing insurrection on January 6? What better way to throw people off the scent of a vast right-wing conspiracy than to assert that something much more sinister is percolating on the left.

In practice, the administration is engaged in a category error. It assumes that organized opposition presupposes an organization. But, as Gertrude Stein once said rather cruelly of her hometown of Oakland, there’s no “there” there. Fascism has experienced a successful rebrand in the age of Trump. Lots of people and institutions are organizing against this fascism. But what the Trump administration calls “antifa” just doesn’t exist.

The Myth of a Global Antifa

This beast called antifa does not exist….it consist of anyone who hates fascism as much as I do.

Hell antifa was even blamed for Donny’s pool ‘sabotage’……we are not the scapegoat for Donny and the thugz he travels with….

We Americans seem to be deathly afraid of the term socialism….why?

Well basically because of the 50s Red Scare and it has just kept growing from those days.

With that firmly in your mind there is a very good piece written by Nick Licata….

While Wikipedia identifies two dozen different kinds of socialism, two primary approaches support its goal of upholding a society’s welfare. One approach is to realistically regulate the marketplace to ensure it provides everyone in society with their basic needs, allowing them to lead a satisfactory life. The other is pursuing the ideal communal society without a marketplace that forces competition for obtaining basic needs.

Capitalism’s active practice is maintaining a marketplace to exchange goods, services, and access to them through a price system. Money has the greatest exchangeability value because it allows for the acquisition of various types of resources, one of the most critical being political power. However, exchanges can be made through a barter system, in which tangible items, including human labor, can be directly exchanged between seller and buyer. This was the dominant system before the advent of written history.

Capitalism’s belief system is limited to preserving the marketplace because it results in greater accumulation of resources that can be used for many purposes. There is no aspiration to create a new society; rather, it is to protect the current market-based one. It is a continuation of Adam Smith’s philosophy, as presented in An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations, which appeared just as the Industrial Age was dawning in the late 1700s. He believed that individuals pursuing their self-interest in the marketplace would benefit society through increased productivity and wealth.

Socialism as a practice can be seen as a popular response to the marketplace system that replaced the barter system. It aimed to regulate the marketplace so that no concentration of material or social advantages occurred to the extent that it disrupted a community’s cohesion.
Socialism, as a pronounced belief system challenging the marketplace, emerged in the 19th century, when the term “socialist” was introduced. It was first used to describe the effort to create cooperative businesses and communities as an alternative to capitalism’s marketplace economy.

American Origins Of Fascism

Most people know that I love my history and will take every opportunity to enlighten my readers on the history of this nation….that is what you get from someone with a degree in political history and sorry but you must suffer.

This post is about a book and a podcast transcript….that traces fascism in the early days….

For more than a decade, we’ve been flooded with books warning about fascism — how to recognize it, how it spreads, how democracies lose their way. Almost all begin with the same assumption: Fascism was a European creation that eventually washed up on American shores.

Joseph Kelly says we’ve got it backwards.

Kelly, a professor at the College of Charleston and author of The Biggest Lie: The Prehistory of American Fascism 1818-1915, began writing a history of the 1920s and 30s. But every thread he pulled led somewhere earlier — past the World Wars, past the Ku Klux Klan, deep into the 19th-century South — until he found himself asking a far more unsettling question: What if America wasn’t simply influenced by fascism? What if it helped invent the political playbook that Europe later embraced?

In this week’s WhoWhatWhy podcast, Kelly traces that story from the compromises over slavery at the 1787 Constitutional Convention to the post-Civil War politics of Jim Crow and beyond. He explains why fascism is less an ideology than a corruption of democracy itself, why “the Big Lie” has such enduring political power, and why Hitler looked to the American South not simply as an observer, but as an admirer.

Kelly insists this isn’t a book about today’s politics. It’s about how democracies convince themselves that dangerous ideas will simply fade away — and what happens when they don’t. It’s an argument about American history that may change the way you think about American democracy itself.

Is Trump The Disease?

You damn right he is a f**king disease!

Like a nagging pain that will not go away, like a boil that keeps on giving…..

Since his entry into the political sphere I have heard many people call him a disease especially with hatred and sexist bullshit….but is he really the disease or just a symptom of what is happening in this country?

Robert Reich tries to explain what the Hell is happening in this country.

The system is out of whack. It needs fundamental change.

If you want to understand why the American system has become so dysfunctional, and what you might do to help it to meet the needs of average people, you need to reassess many of your likely assumptions about it.

1. First, forget politics as you’ve come to see it as electoral contests between Democrats and Republicans. Think power. The underlying contest is between a small minority who have gained power over the system, and the vast majority who have little or none.

2. Forget what you may have learned about the choice between the “free market” and government. A market cannot exist without a government to organize and enforce it. The important question is whom the market has been organized to serve.

3. For the same reason, don’t try to separate economics from politics. They’re two sides of the same issue. (Be suspicious of anyone who tries to separate them.)

4. Forget the standard economic goals of higher growth and greater efficiency. The issue is who benefits from more growth and efficiency.

5. Don’t be dazzled by “corporate social responsibility.” Most of it is public relations. Corporations won’t voluntarily sacrifice shareholder returns unless laws require them to. Even then, be skeptical of laws unless they’re enforced and backed by big penalties. Large corporations and the super-rich ignore laws when the penalties for violating them are small relative to the gains for breaking them. Fines are then simply very manageable costs of doing business.

6. Don’t assume that we’re locked in a battle between capitalism and socialism. We already have socialism — for the very rich. Most Americans are subject to harsh capitalism.

7. Don’t define “national competitiveness” as the profitability of large American corporations. Those corporations are now global, with no allegiance to America. Real national competitiveness lies in the productivity of the American people — which depends on their education, their health, and the infrastructure linking them together.

8. You can also forget the ups and downs of the business cycle. Focus instead on systemic changes that have caused the wealth and power of a few to dramatically increase during the last 40 years at the expense of the many.

9. Forget the old idea that corporations succeed by becoming better, cheaper, or faster than their competitors. They now succeed mainly by increasing their monopoly power.

10. Forget any traditional definition of finance. Think instead of a giant gambling casino in which bets are made on large flows of money, and bets are made on those bets (called derivatives). The biggest winners have better inside-information than anyone else.

11. Don’t assume the system is stable. It moves through vicious spirals and virtuous cycles. We are now in a vicious spiral. The challenge is to turn the vicious into the virtuous.

12. Don’t believe the system is a meritocracy in which ability and hard work are necessarily rewarded. Today the most important predictor of someone’s future income and wealth is the income and wealth of the family they’re born into.

13. Don’t separate race from class. Racial discrimination is aggravating class divides, and wider inequality is worsening racial divides.

14. Think systemically. Most people’s incomes haven’t risen for four decades, and they are becoming less economically secure. Meanwhile, climate change is intensifying competition for arable land and potable water around the world, generating larger flows of refugees and immigrants. Together they allow demagogues to fuel bigotry by blaming immigrants for the stagnant incomes and economic insecurity.

15. Don’t confuse attractive policy proposals with changes in the system as a whole. Even if enacted, such proposals at most mitigate systemic problems. Solving those systemic problems requires altering the allocation of power.

16. Most importantly, you need to understand the nature of power — who possesses it and why, how it is wielded, and for what purposes.

Power is the ability to direct or influence the behavior of others. On a large scale, power is the capacity to set the public agenda — to frame big choices, to influence legislators, and to get laws enacted or prevent them from being enacted, to assert one’s will on the world.

This disease has a cure the problem is that people are afraid of the cure more than they fear the disease.

Progressivism can bring about a cure….it is not an instant cure but a cure nonetheless.

DSA Is Full Of Marxists

Well that is the storyline the MAGA rags would have its readers believe…..invoking more Red Scare….and sadly it works on those with meager mental capabilities. They like to paint opposition in broad strokes….matters not that it is inaccurate for the most part.

The truth is there are Marxists within the DSA but that does not make the whole organization Marxist just like the GOP’s Log Cabin Republicans does not make the whole GOP gay.

So yes there are some Marxist in the DSA but they are a faction not the controlling body….there are even some, few, Leninists and Maoists within the organization.

But why would Marxists enter into a organization of social democracy?

For decades, DSA was an anti-communist, Labor Zionist, social democratic organization. However, in 2016, a massive wave of new members completely overran its existing membership, and DSA was unable to draw them into its existing ideology. Due to the ideological diversity of this wave of new members, that old alignment was not replaced by any fully developed ideology. DSA’s new politics came to be defined by a strong electoral orientation, as many people saw the rapid rise in DSA’s membership between 2016 and 2019 as the direct result of the Bernie, Trump, and AOC campaigns. Many of the new members were initially inspired by Bernie and AOC’s brand of social democracy, and DSA’s success was often framed, accurately or not, via electoral success, securing that social democratic tendency a presence in the new DSA.

That said…..what does a Marxist organization say about the DSA….

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) has become a serious political force. As of February 2026, DSA said it had surpassed 100,000 members, and Zohran Mamdani’s victory in New York City’s 2025 mayoral election gave the organization its most visible municipal triumph to date. Yet from a rigorous Marxist standpoint, the organization’s present political and organizational trajectory raises deep strategic concerns. The problem is not that its immediate demands are necessarily wrong. The problem is that the methods and structures it has adopted may systematically prevent those demands from ever being realized. This essay argues that DSA’s commitment to electoralism within the Democratic Party, its reformism without a developed theory of the state, its class composition, and its ideologically diffuse “big tent” model together forms a set of contradictions that Marxist analysis reveals as structural rather than accidental.

Social democracy assumes that capitalism can be durably civilized through redistribution, regulation, and welfare-state management. Marxism insists that such gains are real but unstable, because they rest on a social order whose core relation is exploitation and whose dominant class retains structural power over investment, employment, credit, and the state itself. The difference is not semantic. It concerns whether the goal is to humanize capitalism or to supersede it.

A Marxist critique of DSA

As you see they are not the same and to lump them all together is pure lunacy.

This in nothing more that propaganda and fearmongering….the two things that MAGA excels at doing ….matters not that it is mostly bovine fecal matter.

A Communist Under Every Bed

To listen to Donny and the Right noise machine you would think that ‘communists’ are crawling all over our nation….so much crap but Donny just cannot stop talking about communists….

When Donald Trump gets into a loop, it’s hard to get him out. He’ll just talk in a circle until he’s bored and moves on to the next thing. He has fixated on Greenland and ruminated on his reflecting pool. Right now, though, his focus is The Communists. And as a new Reuters analysis reveals, he’s really into it: Over the past two weeks, Trump has brought up communism a full 81 times.

Communism is an old rhetorical obsession for Trump—who was in first grade when Joseph Stalin died—and his allies. In 2025, he introduced a “National Anti-Communism Week.” He blamed communists for his 2023 criminal indictments. During his 2020 campaign, he accused his opponents of (you guessed it) communism.

It may be a product of his deep relationship with Roy Cohn, a lackey of Red Scare architect Sen. Joseph McCarthy and Trump’s longtime mentor and personal lawyer.

But over the past week, the president appears to have hit overdrive, sermonizing against communism at fever pitch. And like his Red Scare predecessors, Trump is also using the label to go after immigrants, decrying a “resurgent communist menace” from “newcomers to our country” in a July 3 speech at Mount Rushmore—designed by an anti-immigrant crusader and Ku Klux Klan associate—that also characterized communism as “a mortal threat to American liberty” and “the greatest threat” to the United States, surpassing Pearl Harbor, both World Wars, the September 11 attacks, et cetera.

“There’s a concerted effort to characterize opposition to ICE or opposition to the Trump administration as some form of conspiracy, as an effort to provoke terrorism,” says Mark Bray, author of “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook.” “There are a number of things that can be said about the various sentences, but perhaps the most obviously egregious is that handed out to Daniel Sanchez [Estrada]: 30 years for moving some zines, some literature, which is not illegal to possess.”

During his speech, Trump stated, “As you saw with the communists elected in New York City recently, they’re communists. They’re not social democrats.” He said, “They want to completely destroy the traditional American way of life. Communism is very easy to sell. It destroys everything, but it’s very easy.” Trump then made an unexpected remark, saying, “I’ll be honest, I think I’d be the greatest communist in history.”

Trump Diplomacy–Comic Book Edition

Our mindless Donny with his off again on again war with Iran made me think back to his first term and into his second and wonder just what the Hell is he thinking….that is if he thinking at all….

I recently read a great article that tries to explain these brain farts Donny keeps having….

Writers often try to gild their tawdry times or dignify their flawed leaders with lofty literary analogies — notably, America as the New Jerusalem; Lincoln as Moses leading his people through the wilderness of the Civil War; the Kennedy White House as an incarnation of King Arthur’s “Camelot“; or Lyndon Johnson living his last years as a latter-day King Lear, cast off by his ungrateful children into the moors of south Texas.

But what are we going to do with Donald Trump? Wouldn’t his vanity, his vulgarity, and his relentless pursuit of money and minerals in every corner of the globe turn any literary analogies into soggy clichés? Like the showman P.T. Barnum, Trump is an American original, whose true metaphors can be found only in comic books (America’s one true art form), not literature. As Ariel Dorfman reminded us once upon a time in How to Read Donald Duck, that classic guide to U.S. cultural imperialism in Latin America, there was always more to a Disney comic book than gags.

To understand Trump’s America, we need our own comic guidebook to his global misadventures, which might be titled something like “How to Read Scrooge McDuck.” After all, in case you never had the pleasure of his acquaintance, Scrooge McDuck was the predatory billionaire in Disney comics, who was amazingly popular among teenagers in Cold War America. In that era when American corporations scampered around the global economy extracting profits wherever they saw fit, Scrooge McDuck put a friendly face on U.S. imperialism, making covert intervention and commercial exploitation look benign, even comic.

From 1952 to 1988, a period coinciding almost precisely with the Cold War, the comic’s creator, illustrator Carl Barks, filled the country’s magazine racks with more than 220 comic books celebrating Scrooge’s schemes to accumulate ever more billions by dispatching Donald Duck and his triplet nephews (Huey, Dewey, and Louie) to scour the world for riches — gems, minerals, oil, and lost treasure. American diplomacy is dead and who knows how long will it take to recover?

I wish I could be optimistic about the future of US diplomacy but I just cannot bring myself to do so….the damage has been done and the wounds will be gaping for a generation…..anything the next president does will be basically a band-aid for a gunshot wound.

The DNC has decided where the first in the nation vote will be and their decision was South Carolina.

Progressives are not thrilled with this choice….

Democrats just set the opening scene for 2028—and the party’s left flank is not applauding. A key Democratic National Committee rules panel voted Friday to make South Carolina the first presidential primary state, sidelining Nevada and igniting fears among progressives that the move is designed to blunt another Bernie Sanders–style bid. South Carolina is where Sanders was trounced in both 2016 and 2020, and one panel member told Axios the choice risks “shutting down” a progressive contender rather than reflecting “the winds of change” while “the public is swinging left.”

The fight is layered with questions of ideology and race. Critics on the left, including Jacobin writer Branko Marcetic and streamer Hasan Piker, see the decision as an establishment play to block a “left-wing insurgent,” while some DNC members reportedly worried Nevada’s first-in-the-nation status could turbocharge a socialist candidate. Sanders easily won the Nevada caucuses in 2020 with help from organized labor allies, Puck notes. Earlier that month, Sanders won the New Hampshire primaries, with Joe Biden finishing fifth. But Biden went on to score a resounding victory in South Carolina, finishing ahead of Sanders in every county.

South Carolina Democratic Party chair Christale Spain, a former Sanders staffer, argues that a progressive such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could “absolutely” win there—if they master retail politics in the South. The full DNC still has to ratify the calendar, but the deeper test for progressives remains whether they can finally break through with the older Black voters who dominate Southern primaries.

Will this make a difference?

The DNC is a dysfunctional mess and hoping blacks show up to vote will somehow save them.

Even that fossil James Carville sees how screwed up the DNC has become….he has even suggested the Hogg take over the leadership of the DNC.

Hogg was run out of the DNC earlier this year for his extreme views and yet a centrist slug like Carville says he would be a good choice for leader.

I do not necessarily disagree but beyond that I want to know what Carville’s game is….it is not at all like him to side with the more progressive Dems.

He is up to something….or he is got some sort of mental issue that comes with extreme age.
